Finance Manager
We’re supporting a long-established distribution business near Harrogate to recruit a Finance Manager, following the planned retirement of their long-standing incumbent.
The business has been trading successfully for 15 years, supplying products into manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors across the UK. It operates as a lean, profitable trading company, with a strong reputation in its niche and a loyal customer and supplier base.
You’ll take full ownership of the finance function, overseeing day-to-day operations through to month and year-end. This is a hands-on position, working closely with the MD.
Key responsibilities:
- Month-end and year-end reporting
- Managing cashflow and forecasting
- Ownership of the general ledger (Sage 50)
- Maintaining financial controls
- Liaising with external accountants
- Some HR admin and liaison
- Overseeing payroll (currently outsourced, with the option to bring in-house)
- Supporting the MD on ad hoc finance and commercial queries
Who this would suit
Ideal for someone experienced and self-sufficient, with a good grounding in SME finance. It would suit someone QBE or qualified, with confidence working on Sage and Excel, and who enjoys the predictability of a well-run business.
You’ll be working on-site with the option for one day a week from home. The company is open to either full-time (37 hours) or a part-time arrangement for the right person.
