Financial Director
IPS Finance is recruiting a Finance Director for a growing, privately owned business operating in the consumer services sector. The company has experienced significant growth and is investing in its finance function to support further expansion.
Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, the Finance Director will take responsibility for financial management, commercial performance and strategic planning across the business.
This is a hands on leadership role offering the opportunity to influence business strategy, develop the finance team and improve financial reporting and controls within an expanding SME.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance team, providing day to day management, coaching and support.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, Board reporting and financial commentary.
- Take responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning.
- Develop KPI reporting, financial dashboards and operational performance analysis to support business decisions.
- Work closely with the Managing Director to develop financial strategy and support the company’s growth plans.
- Provide commercial insight into pricing, margins, profitability and operational efficiency.
- Partner with sales, operations and procurement teams to improve financial performance, stock management and cost control.
- Maintain financial controls, governance, statutory compliance and audit requirements.
- Manage relationships with banks, external finance providers and key suppliers, including oversight of foreign currency transactions.
- Lead improvements to finance systems, reporting processes and automation to provide better management information across the business.
Candidate Profile
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence pricing, profitability and strategic decisions.
- Experience overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting.
- Confident working directly with Managing Directors, Board members and senior operational stakeholders.
- Experience improving financial systems, reporting processes and internal controls.
- A hands on approach, ideally developed within a growing SME or owner managed business.
- Experience within a product led, manufacturing, distribution or service based business would be advantageous.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £75,000 -£85,000
