    Finance Manager

      £50000 - £60000 per annum + Benefits

    We are recruiting for a £35m t/o manufacturing client in Bradford. The role is to head up the finance team, reporting directly to the UK Financial Director. The successful individual will be a key member of the senior management team. You will have responsibility for leading the team to produce timely and accurate management accounts and to provide key financial information to senior decision makers.

    There will be a number of opportunities to be involved in project work within the UK group of businesses. An individual that is process driven, with strong IT skills, and an interest in continuous improvement would be ideally suited.

    Main Duties

    • To take a lead on the timely and accurate production of management accounts for 3 operating companies, meeting the group reporting timetable.
    • To ensure that VAT returns and all other government statistical returns both for the UK, and for Ireland are completed as required.
    • Responsible for managing the nominal ledger and ensuring all accounts are reconciled.
    • Maintain the Fixed Asset register.
    • Ensure sales flash reports are produced regularly, and that margin queries are investigated.
    • Provide direct line management of the Bradford based finance team, supporting their personal development.
    • Act as the main contact for group management reporting information.
    • Take a lead on the development and improvement of the company financial systems (Microsoft Navision)
    • Take an active role in UK management meetings.
    • Provide the voice of finance on project teams across the UK, getting involved in key projects as and when appropriate.
    • Provide ad hoc support to the UK Financial director, as and when required.

    Essential Criteria

    • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, or equally qualified by experience.
    • Highly IT literate, with excellent excel skills.
    • Has enthusiasm to embrace new technology and learn in-house software.
    • A strong and empathetic leader, with experience managing a team with differing levels of experience.
    • A high level of commitment, initiative, and self-motivation are essential in this role.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate a positive approach towards change.
