Management Accountant
Our client is a well established and privately owned group of businesses with a diverse portfolio in the property industry. They are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to support financial reporting, improve processes and help develop the wider finance team.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function. This is a varied position offering the opportunity to take ownership of monthly management accounts, lead process improvements and contribute to the ongoing development of systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Produce financial analysis and management information to support business decisions.
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team, providing guidance and development.
- Review and improve existing finance processes to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Work with Sage 50, identifying opportunities to enhance the system and improve reporting capabilities.
- Calculate and maintain service charge budgets, reconciliations and year-end statements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
- Support the year-end audit process and statutory reporting requirements.
- Undertake ad hoc projects as the finance function continues to evolve.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience producing full management accounts.
- Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting.
- Experience supervising or mentoring finance staff would be advantageous.
- Proactive with a continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to challenge existing processes.
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience.
- Full-time, permanent position offering a 35 hour work week.
- Office-based with 1 wfh day per week
- On-site parking.
