Financial Controller
Our client is a well-established UK manufacturing business and part of a wider group. With multiple sites and a strong governance culture, the business offers genuine scope to influence operations and performance.
This is a senior, hands-on role with full responsibility for day-to-day financial control, reporting and compliance. The Financial Controller will lead a small transactional team, provide clear performance insight to senior stakeholders, and act as the principal finance contact for the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Full ownership of monthly management accounts in line with group timetables
- Production of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting with meaningful variance analysis
- Board and senior management reporting, including performance commentary
- Development and maintenance of robust financial controls, policies and procedures
- Leading the annual budget and forecast cycles, challenging assumptions where needed
- Business partnering with operational leaders to understand costs and improve margins
- Oversight of cash flow forecasting, banking arrangements and payment approvals
- Management and development of the purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control teams
- Leading year-end audit and statutory processes with external auditors and advisers
- Responsibility for VAT, corporation tax, payroll liaison and UK statutory filings
Candidate profile:
- Proven experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in management reporting, budgeting and cash flow control
- Experience leading audits and working with external advisers
- Confident, collaborative people manager with a coaching mindset
- Strong systems skills and advanced Excel capability
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
