Cost Accountant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Accountant to join a well-established, innovative manufacturing business. The business is undergoing a period of growth and transformation, offering the successful candidate the chance to make an impact in shaping the company’s future.
This is a highly commercial, hands-on role within a fast-paced, operational manufacturing environment. You will play a key part in driving profitability, supporting business decisions, and partnering with operations and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate and maintain accurate costs for all products, ensuring new and existing items meet margin targets.
- Monitor profitability by product and customer, highlighting areas for improvement or concern to the senior team.
- Work closely with operations and commercial teams to find more cost-effective ways of working and improve overall business performance.
- Manage price changes related to material costs and help implement these with customers.
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts by product and customer, track actual performance, and flag any issues.
- Review stock levels, investigate discrepancies, and suggest solutions for slow-moving items with the wider team.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience within a manufacturing environment with exposure to cost accounting
- Strong commercial acumen and operational experience, with a focus on business partnering and performance analysis.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
