    Part-time Payroll Assistant

    Exciting new opportunity for a part-time Payroll Assistant to join a long-established, independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Halifax.
    With just over 30 staff, this small but prominent firm offer a variety of services to their wide range of clients. From Audit, Accountancy, Taxation and Business Advice, this firm pride themselves on offering their clients a well-rounded service.

    About the role:

    • Manage, control, and undertake computerised payroll services on behalf of our clients using both QTAC systems and Sage 50 Payroll.
    • To collate and submit monthly CIS returns.
    • To ensure that all required submissions have been made accurately and on time.
    • To ensure that all pension contribution uploads are submitted accurately and promptly.
    • To ensure that clients are fully aware of their HMRC liabilities and to carry out reconciliations to ensure payments have been made on time.
    • To carry out year-end procedures including ensuring reconciliations are up to date and P60’s have been generated and delivered on time.
    • To generally assist the payroll department in providing payroll and pension services to clients.

    About you:

    • Experienced in payroll administration within a bureau setting.
    • Knowledge of payroll legislation
    • Knowledge of Construction Scheme Industry legislation
    • Knowledge of payrolling benefits in kind.
    • Strong Microsoft package skills including excel.
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
    • Ability to communicate with colleagues, accountants, and clients with professionalism.

    What’s on offer:

    • Part-time (minimum 15 hrs per week) – can be flexible around school hours etc
    • Free on-site parking
    • 24 days annual leave + bank holidays (FTE)
    • Closed for 1 week over Christmas.
    • Flexible working arrangements
    • Salary from £25,000 to £30,000 (FTE)
