Audit & Accounts Senior

We are supporting a well-established firm of accountants based in Barnsley, looking for an experienced and highly motivated Audit and Accounts Senior to join their team. Their client base is predominantly owner-managed businesses and SMEs from a range of sectors. This would be a 80 / 20 split in favour of accounts work.

As an Audit and Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for leading and managing audit assignments, ensuring that they are completed to a high standard and within budget.

You will also be responsible for preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders, as well as preparing corporation tax computations and returns. In addition, you will provide general tax planning advice to clients, manage and mentor junior members of staff, and build and maintain strong client relationships.

To be successful in this role, you will be ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a practice environment.

You will have a strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, as well as knowledge of tax legislation and compliance requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be liaising with clients and managing a team of junior staff.

You will also be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with strong organisational and time management skills.

Salary: £38,000 – £45,000
