    Benefits of flexible working times

As we move into a world with more benefits, flexible working is becoming more popular amongst candidates, with many citing this a top reason for looking for a new role.

I’ve listed below the benefits of flexible working for a variety of groups of people, to showcase how much of an impact it really has!

    For the individuals:

    1. Being able to start earlier and finish earlier will enable an optimised commute for many people. They can try to avoid peak traffic times or plan the best public transport route around a suitable time for them.
    2. Having the ability to change your start and finish time will make attending appointments easier, as you can visit the dentist or doctor outside of work hours, meaning no annual leave or company time is wasted.

    For the family:

    1. For many people, flexible work time enables parents to drop kids off at school/pick them up, removing some of the headache of childcare and enabling the parents to commit to full-time hours.
    2. Quality family time is important, and if a parent can start early and finish early, they could be home for family dinner time and to help with homework.

    For the employer:

    1. Individuals who would have previously worked part-time due to childcare commitments or travel issues, can work full-time with the flexibility. Giving you more support to ensure the job gets done!
    2. With the competitive world of recruitment, a good benefits package will give you the edge. Flexible working will show candidates that you understand personal life is also important and encourage them to find a balance that works best for them.

Flexible working is just one of many benefits that candidates are currently seeking, alongside hybrid working, increased salary, and increased pension contributions to name a few. All of these will encourage the best individuals to join you over a competitor.
