How using one recruitment agency will benefit your job search!
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably had multiple recruitment agencies reach out to you and discuss wonderful opportunities that they currently have available. Being approached by many different individuals can make your job search feel overwhelming, not knowing who to turn to or what roles to look at.
Below I have listed all the reasons why you should stick with one recruitment agency, and how that will benefit your job search and ensure you secure the right role for you.
- Most agencies (especially within Accountancy Practice) will cover almost all of the same firms, so you won’t miss out if you choose to use one agency. This means you can keep all your arranged interviews and information in one place, making it easier to track.
- If you make your CV available to multiple agencies, your application will be duplicated, and this could negatively impact your chances of interviewing at some firms. Look at this from the firm’s point of view, they receive tonnes of CV’s a week and if your CV is being sent to them from 5 different agencies across two days, they might not be happy with this. (I’ve had candidates miss out on interviews because of this!)
- Not all agencies are specialists, so find someone who will have a good understanding of your role and what opportunities would be suitable for you. - The more reputable the agency, the more the clients will trust them, which means your CV would carry more weight to it compared to if you used a general agency that covers many sectors. Some clients work exclusively with one or two agencies only, so picking a good quality agency that can specialise in your area will give you access to top quality opportunities.
The decision to look for a new job is a difficult one, both professionally and emotionally, so choosing the right recruitment agency to work with will be the difference between you having an informed, smooth, and thoughtful process, compared to a rushed, pressured, and stressful process.
